About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate backend services that connect frontend, AI agents, databases, identity systems, and external data providers.
- Implement secure REST APIs, SSE streams, and WebSocket features for real-time and async workflows.
- Own PostgreSQL schema design, migrations, transactions, and query performance tuning.
- Integrate external data providers: handle auth, pagination, rate limits, schema variance, and error states.
- Define and document stable data contracts and APIs for frontend and AI consumers.
- Build unit, contract, and DB-backed integration tests; instrument services with structured logging and monitoring.
- Diagnose production failures across APIs, databases, auth layers, and external dependencies using observability tools.

Requirements:
- Strong production experience with Python (FastAPI), TypeScript/Express, and building backend services.
- Deep PostgreSQL skills: schema design, migrations, transactions, performance analysis.
- Experience with OAuth/OIDC, JWT validation, and resource-scoped RBAC.
- Solid understanding of concurrency, idempotency, retries, timeouts, and distributed failure modes.
- Security-minded approach to input validation, credential management, and sensitive-data handling.
- Experience using logs, traces, and error-monitoring tools to diagnose and resolve production incidents.
- Clear communicator able to collaborate with frontend, AI, and operations teams. Preferred: familiarity with analytical stores (Snowflake/ClickHouse), geospatial or graph data integrations.
