## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain downstream data pipelines and transformed models in BigQuery to support reporting, ML, financial reconciliation and regulatory needs.
- Design and implement logical data models, metadata, and testing standards to improve warehouse reliability and discoverability.
- Optimise the data warehouse for cost and performance, identifying opportunities to reduce complexity and cloud spend.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, analysts, data scientists and product teams to define ingestion patterns and reliable contracts from source systems.
- Implement and run automated tests, data quality checks and monitoring to surface and resolve downstream issues quickly.
- Contribute to Looker model optimisation and BI best practices to improve query performance and user experience.

Requirements:
- Practical experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and modelling data for analytics in BigQuery or similar cloud warehouses.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with performance tuning and cost-awareness in cloud analytics platforms.
- Experience with data quality tooling or testing frameworks and implementing automated validation.
- Understanding of BI platforms (Looker or equivalent) and how models underpin reporting and ML use cases.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional squads, following and promoting engineering best practices.
- Curious, pragmatic mindset with an emphasis on maintainable, documented solutions and cost-effective design.

## Responsibilities

You will build and maintain robust data pipelines and models in BigQuery to support internal reporting, machine learning, and financial processes. Additionally, you will optimize data warehouse performance and costs while defining best practices for data quality and testing.

## Requirements

Candidates should have experience with data modeling, ETL projects, and big data technologies. You must be proficient in SQL and comfortable with general data warehousing concepts.
