Responsibilities:
- Support data scientists and subject matter experts to understand project questions, data availability and expected outputs.
- Clean, combine and explore datasets; write clear Python code and document assumptions, checks and data quality issues.
- Build and compare straightforward statistical or ML models using appropriate baselines; assist with training, testing and evaluation.
- Help develop and test prototypes, including safe use of language models where relevant; verify outputs before sharing.
- Prepare charts, concise written summaries and presentation materials; explain results to colleagues and, with support, to clients.
- Use feedback and code review to refine work and contribute to reproducible project files and team knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience applying data science through projects, internships, research or commercial work.
- Practical Python experience from employment, internships, research or substantial academic/personal projects.
- Basic grounding in statistics and common ML methods (regression/classification), and familiarity with model evaluation practices.
- Care for data quality, documentation and reproducible code; willingness to learn version control and collaborative development practices.
- Good written and spoken English and curiosity about real client problems; ability to explain analysis clearly.
- A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative or social science field.
