## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL and Delta Lake.
- Build robust ETL/ELT and ingestion frameworks for batch and streaming workloads; ensure data quality and idempotency.
- Integrate with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Azure Data Factory (or Fabric Data Factory) for orchestration and storage.
- Implement CI/CD for data pipelines, source control (Git), automated tests and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor and tune pipeline performance, resource usage and cost; document runbooks and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Engineers, Analysts and Solution Architects to deliver governed, production-ready data products.

Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL and Delta Lake in production.
- Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with ADLS Gen2 and Azure Data Factory (or Fabric) required.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, testing, monitoring and Agile delivery practices.
- Ability to design for security, governance and data lineage; produce clear technical documentation.
- UK-based and eligible to obtain/maintain SC and NPPV3 clearance; willing to travel nationally as needed.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; experience working on cloud-native data platforms.
