## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services for billing, market communication and dynamic energy plans using TypeScript/Node.js.
- Build and maintain database schemas, queries and migrations on PostgreSQL (ORM/Drizzle-based patterns).
- Develop Next.js backend components (API routes/server components) and reliable async workflows.
- Integrate payments and billing flows with Stripe and maintain accurate transaction processing.
- Improve system scalability and observability; participate in architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Mentor peers, raise engineering standards and ship iterative improvements with strong ownership.

Requirements:
- Minimum ~3 years of hands-on backend experience with production TypeScript and Node.js code.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL and ORM-style tools (Drizzle or similar).
- Familiarity with Next.js backend patterns and asynchronous programming models.
- Experience designing distributed systems and building scalable, maintainable services.
- Experience integrating Stripe or similar payment/billing systems.
- Strong CS fundamentals demonstrated via education or notable practical achievements.
- Fluent or native-level German (C1+) and clear communication skills; comfortable working onsite in Berlin.
