## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain and improve the Database Platform infrastructure on AWS to ensure reliability, security and scalability.
- Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and CI/CD practices to automate deployments and reduce toil.
- Operate containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), including deployment patterns and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and orchestration using Apache Airflow and dbt; collaborate with Product & Analytics on access and metadata flows.
- Maintain and enhance observability (metrics, logs, traces) to meet SLOs; participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing and the team roadmap through high-quality code and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services in production environments.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) administration and deployment patterns.
- Proficient with IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins or similar).
- Competent in at least one programming language for automation (Python preferred).
- Experience with dbt for data transformations and Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, security best practices, and observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Nice to have: knowledge of database internals (tuning, HA, replication/sharding), backend engineering experience, or familiarity with metadata platforms (OpenMetadata).

## Responsibilities

You will develop and maintain platform solutions to improve the reliability, security, and scalability of database infrastructure. Additionally, you will collaborate with product and analytics teams while maintaining observability and participating in on-call rotations.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. Proficiency in Python, CI/CD pipelines, and data transformation tools such as dbt is required.
