Lead Software Engineer at GE Aerospace

Responsibilities:
- Architect, design and deliver production-grade software (frontend and backend) for AI-driven aerospace inspection systems.
- Lead engineering workstreams; translate product requirements into well-scoped increments and manage delivery risks.
- Define and enforce testing strategy (unit, integration, E2E, performance and resilience testing).
- Implement telemetry, logging and monitoring to measure health, reliability and performance post-deployment.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming and technical guidance.
- Document architecture and development decisions, and run agile ceremonies with product owners to prioritise delivery.
- Collaborate with systems, robotics and hardware teams to ensure correct integration and safe operation.

Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong software development skills with experience in VueJS, TypeScript and backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Python).
- Experience building production REST/GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments (Docker) and automated testing.
- Proven ability in software architecture, system integration and producing maintainable code for safety-critical or high-reliability systems.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring capability and excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with robotics or manufacturing integration tools and willingness to work on-site in Bristol.
