## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement search algorithms and relevance ranking for our search engine
- Apply NLP techniques to improve query understanding and result relevance
- Develop backend services using Node.js and TypeScript focused on performance and scalability
- Integrate and process large datasets (Google BigQuery) and connect with the data platform and BI systems
- Build and maintain high-traffic, low-latency APIs and ensure robust monitoring and alerting
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, QA and engineers to define features and iterate quickly
- Drive architectural decisions with the Tech Lead and prototype new technologies
- Investigate search outcomes, diagnose relevance issues and translate findings into technical improvements

Requirements:
- 5+ years backend engineering experience
- 2+ years building scalable APIs (Node.js, Python, or Go) and production services
- Practical, recent experience with a typed language (TypeScript preferred)
- Strong knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling
- Proven ability to write efficient, maintainable, testable code and enforce code quality
- Experience working in English-speaking, agile teams and collaborating cross-functionally
- Strong analytical and debugging skills focused on search behavior and metrics
- Nice to have: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, dbt, MPP warehouses (BigQuery/Redshift), Datadog, cloud (AWS/GCP), orchestration (Dagster/Airflow), ML/LLM experience

## Responsibilities

You will design and implement search algorithms using NLP techniques to optimize search results for relevance and efficiency. Additionally, you will build high-traffic APIs and manage large data volumes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to launch new features.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of backend experience and at least 2 years of experience building scalable APIs with languages like Node.js, Python, or Go. You must have practical experience with typed programming languages and solid knowledge of SQL or No-SQL databases.
