## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Build, operate and maintain end-to-end data pipelines that support front-office trading workflows and decision-making.
- Own operational responsibilities: monitoring, alerting, incident response and continuous improvement for production data products.
- Implement and enforce data quality controls: validation checks, anomaly detection and schema governance.
- Work closely with traders, risk teams and senior stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
- Deliver both batch and near-real-time solutions and develop interactive Python visualisations/dashboards (Plotly Dash/Streamlit) for users.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, SQL performance tuning, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
- Use orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and container tooling (Docker, Kubernetes) as part of deployments.
- Produce clear documentation, runbooks and handovers to ensure operational readiness.

Requirements:
- Strong Python and SQL skills with proven experience building production data pipelines and data products.
- Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster or Prefect) and Python dashboard frameworks (Plotly Dash or Streamlit).
- Experience with ORM/schema design (SQLAlchemy), dashboarding best practices and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Azure DevOps or equivalent), containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes preferred).
- Desirable: experience with Kafka/streaming technologies, Azure cloud services and commodities/financial markets domain knowledge.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experience; typically 5+ years in data engineering or a related role.

## Responsibilities

Design, build and operate end-to-end data pipelines and data products (including monitoring, alerting and data quality controls), collaborate with front-office stakeholders to translate requirements, and develop real-time visualisations and dashboards using Python UI tooling. Contribute to architectural decisions, tune SQL performance, and participate in peer reviews and CI/CD/DevOps workflows. Take ownership of work end-to-end and embed engineering best practices across the team.
