## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain scalable, well-tested data pipelines and warehouse models focused on reliability, performance and business value.
- Develop natural-language interfaces and analytics surfaces using GenAI/LLM techniques to make data accessible to non-technical users.
- Use GenAI coding tools and best practices to improve code quality, testing and delivery velocity.
- Define and enforce standards for SQL development, data modeling, testing, documentation and code reviews.
- Evaluate, pilot and recommend new technologies to evolve the data platform and query stack.
- Partner with engineering, analytics, product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support production systems via on-call rotation, incident response and observability tooling.
- Document architecture, runbooks and domain knowledge to ensure team continuity and effective handovers.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years building reliable, high-performance distributed systems, with strong emphasis on streaming and data pipelines.
- Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS data platforms and owning production support responsibilities.
- Deep SQL skills: writing, optimizing and analyzing complex queries; hands-on with Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Trino or StarRocks.
- Proficient in Python and familiar with streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark) and orchestration tools (Airflow/Dagster/Prefect).
- Cloud experience with AWS and/or GCP and practical knowledge of modern data engineering patterns.
- Demonstrable experience applying GenAI/LLM to data/analytics (semantic layers, NL query interfaces) and using GenAI developer tools.
- Strong focus on testing, data quality, observability and collaborative engineering practices.
