## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain Golang infrastructure services, typically as Kubernetes operators.
- Build and evolve the Confluent Cloud PaaS foundations used across engineering teams.
- Ensure availability, performance, capacity planning and operational readiness for large-scale streaming deployments.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability using Datadog/Prometheus and runbooks for incident response.
- Collaborate with platform, SRE and product teams on architecture, networking, security and cloud integration.
- Participate in on-call rotations, postmortems and continuous improvement of operational processes.

Requirements:
- Proven proficiency in Go (primary), plus familiarity with Python or C++.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and large-scale system operations.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux, networking and public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Knowledge of observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus) and capacity planning practices.
- Self-starter able to work cross-functionally, own services end-to-end, and respond to production incidents.
- Degree in CS or equivalent experience preferred but not required.

## Responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain Golang infrastructure services (primarily Kubernetes operators) to deliver the Confluent Cloud Platform foundations, build and operate a PaaS, and ensure availability, performance, monitoring, and capacity planning for the Confluent cloud.

## Requirements

BS/MS/PhD in CS or equivalent experience; strong cloud infrastructure and distributed systems background; Linux fundamentals; proficiency in Go (and/or Python/C++); experience with public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).
