## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with traders, quants, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to gather requirements and map trading workflows (pre-trade, execution, post-trade, risk, compliance).
- Trace business processes and data flows and identify opportunities to improve resilience, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Design and deliver a new OTC Trading Engine covering Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, and Crypto: define service boundaries, data models, interfaces, and event flows.
- Modernise existing applications: refactor, re-architect, and integrate with new platform components while balancing performance and simplicity.
- Implement high-performance services, data pipelines, and integrations across Java, C++, and Python stacks.
- Build event-driven systems using messaging/pub-sub patterns (e.g., Kafka) with production-grade testing, observability, and failure handling.
- Own delivery end-to-end: design, implement, deploy, monitor, and operate in production; embed monitoring, RCA, and recovery mechanisms.

Requirements:
- Proven experience building and operating distributed backend systems in production.
- Expert in either Java or C++; strong working knowledge of Python desirable.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, low-latency and high-performance design.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Strong engineering fundamentals: testing, observability, automation, and operational resilience.
- Familiarity with container orchestration and platform tooling (Kubernetes, CI/CD) and production incident ownership.
- Clear technical communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional trading and engineering stakeholders.
