Responsibilities:
- Lead design and delivery of data and analytics platforms, applications, interfaces and services supporting MED business needs.
- Partner with stakeholders (economists, statisticians, data scientists) to gather requirements and translate them into robust architectures.
- Build scalable data pipelines and lakehouse/warehouse implementations; implement ingestion, transformation, validation and dissemination processes.
- Apply AI/ML, analytics and high‑performance computing techniques to generate usable insights; enable reproducible, well‑governed workflows.
- Implement data governance, metadata, lineage, security controls and operational monitoring to meet standards for official statistics.
- Lead projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with international counterparts and platform teams to deliver production services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and substantial relevant experience (over six years preferred) in data engineering, analytics or related fields.
- Strong technical skills in data modelling, SQL, distributed data processing, software development and orchestration (Kubernetes, Spark, etc.).
- Experience with lakehouse architectures, big data platforms, high‑performance computing and production data pipelines.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata standards (e.g., SDMx), validation and secure data handling for official statistics.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and project delivery skills in multidisciplinary teams.
