## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend systems and REST/graph APIs to run real-time, business-critical accounting logic.
- Own end-to-end delivery for features: architecture, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, monitoring, and production rollout.
- Design and evolve database schemas, migrations, queries and ORMs to support complex business rules and high data integrity.
- Integrate and harden third-party services and external systems, actively managing edge cases and failure modes.
- Build observability (metrics, logs, alerts) and respond to production incidents, iterating on reliability improvements.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong product-focused delivery and system design.
- Proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), schema design, SQL and migrations.
- Production deployment experience on AWS or similar, with CI/CD, monitoring and production-readiness practices.
- Strong grasp of complex business logic, edge-case handling and API design for dependable systems.
- Preferred: Python experience and familiarity with modern web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django). High ownership, pragmatic problem solving, and strong communication skills.
