## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend services for international repayments and collections.
- Break down larger projects into deliverable phases and own end-to-end delivery for assigned features.
- Collaborate with Product, Design and Analytics during ideation to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Build observability: define metrics, create alerts, and participate in on-call rotations to maintain reliability.
- Perform code reviews, debug production issues, and contribute to a healthy engineering culture (interviews, mentorship).

Requirements:
- 1.5+ years professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience building and shipping backend systems; proficient in Python or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and relevant tech such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Strong engineering fundamentals: designing multi-component solutions, writing clear, testable, maintainable code.
- Comfortable navigating large codebases, debugging others' code, and giving/receiving actionable code review feedback.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and a proactive ownership mindset.

## Responsibilities

The engineer will break down large projects into phases, deliver them, and collaborate with product, design, and analytics teams during ideation and technical constraint articulation. They will also support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics and participating in on-call efforts.
