## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test and maintain backend services in Java/Kotlin using Spring Boot deployed on AWS.
- Build and maintain high-throughput REST APIs serving web and mobile clients.
- Develop and optimise card pay-in and recurring payin flows that process large volumes of transactions.
- Design database schemas and write/optimise SQL for PostgreSQL transactional workloads.
- Implement event-driven processing using Apache Kafka for asynchronous financial events.
- Build and operate payment orchestration logic to route payments across PSPs for cost and reliability.
- Write automated unit, integration and end-to-end tests; perform code reviews and participate in on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts and other engineers; identify and remove performance and scalability bottlenecks.

Requirements:
- Practical experience building backend services in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot.
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS, PostgreSQL, SQL and Kafka in production systems.
- Experience with microservices, REST APIs and high-volume transactional systems (payments preferred).
- Strong focus on automated testing, security best practices and operational readiness (on-call experience desirable).
- Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate trade-offs and contribute to system design for scalability and reliability.
