## About the role

Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and evolution of the core platform across execution, infrastructure, data and frontend platform concerns.
- Design adaptable backend foundations for execution, orchestration, queueing, worker management, scheduling and horizontal scaling.
- Define data persistence strategies: sharding, scaling, migrations and long-term operational maintainability.
- Drive correctness and resilience in distributed systems (idempotency, state transitions, tenant isolation, failure modes).
- Partner with frontend platform teams on canvas architecture, realtime comms, plugin contracts and performance primitives.
- Establish platform RFCs, standards, observability practices and mentor engineering teams across product and open-source contributors.

Requirements:
- Staff-level experience owning platform architecture for large-scale distributed SaaS systems.
- Strong hands-on TypeScript/Node.js skills and broad systems programming knowledge.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, system design, scalability, multi-tenancy and operational concerns.
- Experience with database scaling, sharding, migrations and designing for reliability and maintainability.
- Proven leadership: cross-team collaboration, RFC-driven decisions, mentoring and clear technical communication.
- Comfort working in open-source and hybrid cloud/self-hosted environments and shipping pragmatic, durable solutions.

## Responsibilities

You will lead the architectural evolution of the core platform, ensuring coherence across execution, infrastructure, and frontend systems. You will also mentor engineering teams and define technical standards to support scalable, reliable, and configurable platform foundations.

## Requirements

Candidates must have extensive experience in staff-level architectural ownership, distributed systems design, and deep proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js. Strong systems thinking and the ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives are essential for this role.
