Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and merging pipelines from heterogeneous sources.
- Architect and implement DAG-based orchestration for reliable, observable workflows (e.g., Dagster/Airflow patterns).
- Define and implement semantic models and an ontology layer to give company data consistent meaning.
- Select and evaluate databases, storage, orchestration tools, and architectural patterns to meet product requirements.
- Optimize large datasets for performance and accessibility by AI agents, analytics systems, and BI workloads.
- Integrate with databases, enterprise SaaS, APIs, and external data sources; ensure data quality and observability.
- Establish engineering standards for testing, deployment, monitoring, and reliability; remain hands-on in code and ops.
- Collaborate closely with product and AI engineers to shape platform requirements and technical direction.

Requirements:
- 5+ years professional experience in data or backend engineering, with experience building or scaling data platforms or warehouses.
- Strong Python proficiency and practical experience with modern ETL/ELT frameworks and data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
- Experience with DAG-based orchestrators (Dagster, Airflow) and designing production workflows.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, semantic layers, and ontologies; familiarity with knowledge-graph concepts a plus.
- Experience selecting and operating data stores (e.g., ClickHouse, DuckDB, cloud warehouses) and designing for performance.
- Demonstrated system-design skills, observability practices, testing strategies, and production troubleshooting.
- Comfortable making architectural tradeoffs, driving implementation, and working in a fast-moving product environment.
