Responsibilities:
- Define technical strategies and drive research to align solutions with the CTO’s vision.
- Lead design and construction of full‑stack systems: code architecture, deployment patterns, DevOps, automated testing and third‑party integrations.
- Guide proofs of concept to production, integrating LLMs and modern tooling with minimal hand‑coding where applicable.
- Mentor engineers, share technical learning and lead migration efforts toward Rust and TypeScript standards.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to align roadmaps, budgets and delivery plans; operate in a hybrid, in‑office Auckland environment.
- Participate in in‑person final interviews in New Zealand as part of the relocation process.
Requirements:
- Significant senior software engineering experience (typically 7+ years) with enterprise languages (e.g. C# or Java) and lower‑level languages (Rust or C++).
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, deployment architectures and DevOps practices (Terraform, CI/CD, containers).
- Familiarity with LLM application patterns, toolchains and integration approaches.
- Experience leading technical strategy, mentoring teams and delivering production systems end‑to‑end.
- Effective communicator able to work with clients and cross‑functional teams; willingness and ability to relocate to Auckland and attend in‑person work regularly.
