(Senior) Data Platform Engineer (all genders) - Parental leave cover 12 months at MOIA GmbH

Responsibilities:
- Build, operate and improve core data platform products (Airflow, QuickSight, Data Export API, CubeJS).
- Design and maintain reliable APIs and platform services focused on performance and developer experience.
- Deploy and run serverless and containerised workloads using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EKS, S3).
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu or CDK) and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability for data systems to ensure production reliability and scalability.
- Partner with teams across domains to enable self-service data usage and onboard consumers of the platform.
- Share knowledge, mentor colleagues and contribute to team learning and documentation.

Requirements:
- Strong Python programming skills; familiarity with Golang is a plus.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application patterns.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu or CDK) and CI/CD automation.
- Exposure to job orchestration tools (Airflow or similar) and data platform tooling.
- Understanding of monitoring, scalability, security and production operation practices.
- Good communication skills and a platform mindset: you enjoy enabling other teams and driving shared success.
- Nice-to-have: QuickSight/visualisation experience, API auth/authorization knowledge, prior platform engineering experience.
