Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain the central Databricks-based data platform and its cloud infrastructure.
- Create controlled, reproducible environments: permissions, IaC, deployment patterns, security, and cost controls.
- Define the platform data architecture and standards for reliable ELT pipelines and large dataset processing.
- Implement monitoring, automated data quality checks, and validations to keep data trustworthy at scale.
- Help teams onboard to the platform and advise on maintainable pipeline and architecture patterns.
- Apply software engineering practices: Git-based workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, and reproducibility.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Databricks, Azure, SQL, Python, and Spark in production environments.
- Strong background in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation for data platforms.
- Knowledge of distributed processing, performance tuning, and scalable data architecture patterns.
- Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to gather requirements and make architectural trade-offs.
- Experience promoting reproducible, production-quality code across multiple teams.
