Responsibilities:
- Act as UK Product Owner for SanTalk: define product vision, strategy, roadmap and prioritised backlog for customer-facing AI across contact centres, chat and digital channels.
- Translate business priorities, user feedback and operational needs into prioritized AI use cases, clear product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Represent Santander UK in Group product forums; influence platform roadmap and collaborate with Group teams and technology partners (e.g., Sierra, OpenAI).
- Lead end-to-end delivery: rollout, operation and continuous improvement of AI solutions; ensure business readiness and performance monitoring.
- Guide multidisciplinary delivery teams (data scientists, engineers, ops) and align activities with risk, compliance and model governance standards.
- Track value realisation through experiments and metrics, run pilots/POCs and define success measures tied to customer journeys and operational impact.
Requirements:
- Significant applied experience (typically 6+ years) in data science/applied AI and product leadership for customer-facing solutions; strong track record delivering AI to production.
- Deep understanding of conversational AI, generative models and integration of third-party platforms (Sierra/OpenAI) and MLOps practices.
- Proven stakeholder management across business, risk, legal and technology teams and experience operating in regulated environments.
- Ability to shape product strategy, prioritise backlogs, write clear requirements and lead cross-functional teams to delivery.
- Strong analytical skills, knowledge of model governance, monitoring and performance measurement; customer-focused mindset.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent experience and clear communication skills for senior stakeholders.
