Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering teams to turn driving data (real and simulated) into actionable insights that improve the Wayve AI Driver.
- Define, iterate on and track performance metrics that guide engineering priorities and measure progress toward commercial goals.
- Design and analyse experiments and targeted off-road measurements (A/B tests, controlled studies) to validate product requirements and safety.
- Investigate model training and inference factors that limit functionality or performance and propose data-driven fixes.
- Formulate, test and validate hypotheses; summarise and visualise results clearly to support prioritisation and strategy.
- Communicate findings across time zones, influence cross-functional decisions, and support asynchronous collaboration.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in a Data Science role with hands-on experience building and querying large datasets using production-level SQL.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, sklearn, statsmodels, scipy) or R (dplyr, caret, stats) for analysis and modelling.
- Demonstrated experience designing robust real-world experiments and critically evaluating test statistics and assumptions.
- Strong statistical foundations: selecting distributions, testing assumptions, hypothesis testing and interpreting results.
- Skilled in data visualisation and communicating complex findings in an accessible, actionable way to engineers and product teams.
- Comfortable working asynchronously across time zones and collaborating in a hybrid office environment; motivated by building embodied AI.
