Senior Flight Software Engineer at Astroscale

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and verify real-time flight software for satellite onboard computers.
- Integrate Computer Vision and Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) components into the flight software stack.
- Define software solutions from requirements, participate in design reviews, and address review actions.
- Coordinate with subsystem teams (avionics, FSW, payload) to capture software needs and interfaces.
- Lead verification, integration and test activities for flight software deliverables.
- Act as a subject matter expert for flight software and support knowledge transfer across teams.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional experience in flight or embedded software development for space projects.
- Strong C/C++ skills and experience implementing real-time embedded systems.
- Familiarity with ECSS standards for flight software and embedded software engineering practices.
- Experience with real-time OSes or platforms (VxWorks, RTEMS) and common space protocols is desirable.
- Proven ability to plan work, lead technical areas, and work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Desirable: experience with UML, CCSDS/CAN/SpaceWire, cFS, SPARC/PowerPC architectures, Linux tooling and scripting.
