Responsibilities:
- Design and implement high-quality, modular Python libraries for multimodal data loading, distributed training and inference, checkpointing and observability.
- Collaborate with ML teams to translate workflows and performance requirements into stable, scalable software.
- Lead projects from discovery through delivery: design, implementation, testing, deployment and post-release support.
- Improve reliability, latency and GPU utilisation across large clusters; profile and optimise throughput and memory use.
- Build and maintain tests, CI, documentation and developer-facing APIs to improve the developer experience.
Requirements:
- Extensive Python engineering experience and a strong track record of shipping and maintaining production systems.
- Solid software architecture, testing and observability skills; experience with profiling and performance tuning.
- Practical experience with concurrent, parallel or distributed computing patterns and GPU-based workloads.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow) and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
- Good communication and user-focused collaboration skills; comfortable supporting researchers and engineers at scale.
