About the role

Responsibilities:
- Onderzoek en analyseer de huidige diagnostische workflow voor een geselecteerd TEM‑probleem samen met service engineers.
- Identificeer en bereid relevante data‑bronnen voor: systeemlogs, bugreports, kalibratiebestanden en technische procedures.
- Vergelijk technische benaderingen (gestructureerde zoekoplossingen, regelsystemen en LLM‑gebaseerde assistenten).
- Bouw een werkende prototype‑applicatie die historische data en servicekennis combineert om verdachte oorzaken en diagnostische checks voor te stellen.
- Evalueer het prototype op diagnostische nauwkeurigheid, doorlooptijd en bruikbaarheid met historische cases en engineer‑feedback.
- Documenteer code, schrijf een onderzoeksplan en lever een afstudeerscriptie en presentatie op.

Requirements:
- Inschrijving voor een HBO of WO opleiding Software Engineering en beschikbaar voor een afstudeeropdracht.
- Programmeerervaring in C# of Python; begrip van softwareontwerp, testen en versiebeheer (git).
- Interesse in data‑assisted diagnosis, basiskennis van AI/ML of LLM‑methoden is gewenst.
- Vermogen om zelfstandig te werken, onderzoeksgericht te denken en resultaten helder te rapporteren.
- Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in het Engels; werken op locatie in Eindhoven (R&D TEM) voor de opdracht.

Responsibilities

Assess data sources, compare approaches (structured search, rules, and an LLM-based assistant), build a working prototype, and evaluate diagnostic accuracy and usability.

Requirements

Enrollment in an HBO/WO Software Engineering program for a graduation project; programming experience in C# or Python; solid understanding of software design, testing, and version control; ability to work independently and communicate in English; interest in AI/ML.
