About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, build and deliver ML/AI solutions across the full lifecycle: data ingestion, feature engineering, modelling, validation and production deployment.
- Implement and maintain MLOps pipelines (CI/CD for models), model serving and automated testing to ensure scalable, reliable production systems.
- Monitor models in production: implement observability, alerts, drift detection and performance reporting.
- Translate client requirements into technical designs and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Apply responsible AI and governance best practices: explainability, fairness checks, and compliance support.
- Mentor and support junior data scientists/engineers; share knowledge and drive technical excellence.

Requirements:
- Eligible for Security Clearance.
- Strong programming in Python and C#; SQL or R is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with cloud ML platforms (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI).
- Practical use of ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience with algorithms (regression, trees, XGBoost, clustering, anomaly detection, time series).
- Solid understanding of model evaluation, cross-validation, overfitting, bias, and explainability techniques.
- Experience building observability/monitoring for ML and deploying models at scale with reproducible pipelines.
- Comfortable working with large/ messy datasets and familiarity with public sector data, regulations and constraints.
