About the role
Responsibilities:
- Own content analytics end-to-end: define signals, instrument events and deliver reproducible insights to inform editorial strategy.
- Build engagement metrics (time on page, scroll depth, CTR, tag effectiveness) and separate meaningful engagement from noise.
- Measure value for core subscribers and public audiences across articles, social and video; surface high-attention companies/stories.
- Track competitive coverage, attribution and timeliness; diagnose traffic spikes and provide repeatable analysis frameworks.
- Author dbt models, maintain semantic layer/Omni and ensure datasets are fast, accurate and self-serve for the newsroom.
- Work embedded with editors to translate content questions into prioritised analysis that changes what gets published.
Requirements:
- Senior hands-on analyst with expert SQL skills and experience owning end-to-end content or product analytics.
- Experience with dbt and cloud warehouses (BigQuery or Snowflake) and familiarity with semantic layers/BI tooling.
- Strong background in event/engagement analytics, tagging strategies and building reusable measurement frameworks.
- Comfortable using Python and LLM-based content classification pipelines or modern AI tools for content analysis (advantageous).
- Experience in media, B2B SaaS or fintech analytics and proven ability to partner closely with editorial stakeholders.
- Clear communicator who can translate complex analysis into concise recommendations and reproducible processes.
