Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a team of analytics engineers: recruit, coach, set objectives, run 1:1s and performance cycles.
- Own delivery of downstream data models and the Borrowing Data Warehouse: prioritise work, unblock teams, and ensure reliable pipelines.
- Hands-on technical leadership: participate in design, code reviews, and implementation of complex data models and ETL.
- Define and drive data governance, quality, cost and performance practices across the warehouse.
- Collaborate with product collectives (Borrowing, Money, Ops, Financial Crime) to translate business needs into robust data products.
- Shape technical roadmap and architecture for scalability, maintainability and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:
- Proven experience managing analytics or data engineering teams and developing engineers.
- Deep knowledge of modern data warehouse architecture and best practices (experience with BigQuery, dbt, or similar preferred).
- Strong SQL, data modelling and ETL experience; familiarity with Looker or BI tooling a plus.
- Experience balancing reliability, performance and cost at scale and driving governance initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to translate business problems into data solutions.
- Experience in regulated or financial environments desirable.
