Senior Product Engineer — Booking Experience at Rover.com

Responsibilities:
- Own design and delivery of the booking experience end-to-end: design, implement, test, deploy, and monitor in production.
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, and other engineers to define solutions that improve conversion and user experience.
- Write clean, maintainable backend code (Python/Django) and instrument services for observability and reliability.
- Drive system design and scalable solutions for distributed systems and high-impact product flows.
- Mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, and raise engineering standards across the team.
- Use AI-assisted tools and automated testing to accelerate development while maintaining quality.

Requirements:
- Senior-level experience (typically 7+ years) building customer-facing backend systems.
- Strong proficiency with Python and Django; experience with relational databases and REST API design.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (React/TypeScript) and cross-functional product delivery.
- Experience with observability, automated testing, and production monitoring.
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end features and ability to work in a hybrid team (Barcelona office cadence).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
