Senior Product Engineer at Kernel

About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement product features that directly improve user workflows across frontend and backend.
- Collaborate with product, design and engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences and ship quickly.
- Write and maintain clean, reliable, and scalable code (backend focus: NodeJS, Postgres, TypeScript).
- Ensure performance and reliability for large-scale data operations and integrations (CRMs, third-party APIs).
- Automate developer workflows to improve velocity and reduce manual toil.
- Own projects end-to-end from ideation to deployment and participate in roadmap and technical decisions.

Requirements:
- 6+ years of software/product engineering experience with a strong backend spike.
- Proven experience building and scaling production systems using NodeJS, Postgres and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with LLM application patterns (RAG, prompt engineering, consistency testing) or demonstrable related projects.
- Practical knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and observability tooling.
- Strong communicator, able to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team and shape product and infrastructure.
