Responsibilities:
- Own backend services powering the voice pipeline, agent harness, APIs and integrations; ship end-to-end changes that impact users.
- Scale real-time transcription and deploy new voice/transcription models into production with strong observability and reliability.
- Build the agent runtime: long-running jobs, retries, tool calls and context retrieval for agentic workflows.
- Improve Postgres performance, data modeling and alerting as usage grows; design for failure modes and security/isolation for enterprise customers.
- Talk to users, shape product priorities and iterate quickly—move from idea to production with high autonomy.
Requirements:
- Proven backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js and production relational databases (Postgres) in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform); experience with serverless or long-running job patterns is a plus.
- Strong system design, observability and performance optimization skills; experience owning reliability and alerting.
- Product-focused mindset: able to balance technical quality with user impact and iterate based on feedback.
- Good collaboration and communication skills; willingness to work in-person and partner closely with cross-functional teams.
