About the role
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain backend services for the Parcels product using Java/Spring Boot.
- Deliver new features across the delivery flow (parcels, basket model, delivery tab) with a strong focus on quality and scalability.
- Participate in the team’s agile process: planning, code reviews, automated testing and continuous improvement.
- Ensure services run reliably in a multi-region AWS Kubernetes environment; improve observability and deployments.
- Collaborate with Product, Design and other engineers to translate user needs into pragmatic technical solutions.
- Contribute to architecture and best practices: DDD, hexagonal/clean architecture, messaging and API design.
Requirements:
- Production experience with Java (modern versions), Spring Boot and RESTful API design.
- Familiarity with MySQL, message systems, ElasticSearch, Redis and cloud services (AWS: SQS, SNS, S3).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and multi-region deployment patterns.
- Understanding of Domain Driven Design and clean/hexagonal architecture principles.
- Good testing, CI/CD and Git workflows; proactive, ownership-driven mindset and strong collaboration skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on tasks outside current boundaries to help the team grow and scale.
Responsibilities
Build and evolve backend services and infrastructure to support the growth of the Parcels product. Design, implement, and maintain new features within a cross-functional agile team to reduce food waste.
Requirements
Requires strong production experience with the Java ecosystem, Spring Boot, and cloud infrastructure like AWS and Kubernetes. Candidates should be proficient in Domain Driven Design and Clean/Hexagonal architectures.
