Staff Software Engineer at Jobgether

Responsibilities:
- Define and drive long-term technical strategy and architecture for web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Lead design and delivery of major features and platform components that impact acquisition, onboarding and retention.
- Mentor and raise the bar for senior engineers: guide designs, perform reviews and support career growth.
- Ensure operational excellence: monitoring, alerting, on-call readiness, runbooks and clear incident playbooks.
- Collaborate closely with product, design and analytics to prioritise technical trade-offs and measure impact.
- Own cross-team initiatives to improve code quality, scalability, performance and developer workflows.

Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with proven delivery of large-scale systems.
- Deep expertise in backend technologies (Python, Kotlin), cloud platforms (AWS), databases (MySQL) and Kubernetes.
- Strong frontend experience with frameworks like React, React Native or Vue and understanding of end-to-end systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architectural decisions, deprecate functionality and deliver measurable technical outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring senior engineers across distributed teams.
- Comfortable working autonomously with high ownership and driving cross-functional alignment; ability to work remotely from Spain.
