Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain data warehouse schemas, data marts and integrations to assemble complex analytical datasets.
- Implement and support production ELT/ETL pipelines, orchestration (Airflow/Prefect), and columnar storage optimisations (Vertica/ClickHouse/etc.).
- Improve data reliability, quality and performance through monitoring, observability and query optimisation.
- Document entity definitions, lineage and data flows clearly in the data catalog; produce readable dataset documentation.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform improvements.

Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
- Expert SQL and relational algebra skills; strong Python proficiency for data services and tooling.
- Practical experience with data warehousing, column-oriented databases, dbt, orchestration tools and streaming (Kafka) is required.
- Familiarity with big data query engines, S3/iceberg-style storage patterns, CI/CD and observability for data pipelines.
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills and ability to own large-scale analytical workloads.
