Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow one or more data engineering teams, setting direction and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Provide technical leadership for designing, building and supporting data platforms, pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
- Contribute hands-on to solution design, code reviews, troubleshooting and delivery of complex data solutions.
- Drive adoption of modern tooling and patterns (Spark, Databricks, cloud-native services, IaC, CI/CD) across projects.
- Engage stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise work and ensure solutions deliver measurable business value.
- Ensure solution quality: testing, validation, observability and performance for analytics and ML workloads.

Requirements:
- Proven experience (4+ years in data engineering roles, with management or lead experience) designing and delivering data platforms.
- Strong Python skills and experience with large-scale processing frameworks (Apache Spark) and cloud data services.
- Practical experience with Databricks, Azure/AWS/GCP, data modelling and orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with API development (FastAPI or similar), ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) and productionising ML/data products.
- Solid knowledge of software engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, testing and deployment pipelines.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and team leadership skills in cross-functional delivery environments.
