Responsibilities:
- Run people-first management: regular 1:1s, focused coaching, actionable feedback, performance conversations and career planning.
- Own delivery rhythm: partner with product and design to break down work, scope trade-offs, remove blockers and keep shipping fast and predictable.
- Implement pragmatic process: introduce 'just enough' processes to align teams and reduce friction without adding bureaucracy.
- Build team health and culture: foster trust, accountability, craftsmanship, high morale and autonomous decision-making.
- Hiring & onboarding: partner with Talent and leadership on recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding to scale the engineering team.
Requirements:
- 2+ years managing engineering teams in fast-moving, high-bar startups or tech companies.
- Strong delivery instincts: ability to scope down features, identify bottlenecks early and maintain steady shipping cadence.
- Technical foundation: prior software engineering experience or deep technical fluency to understand trade-offs and support engineers.
- People-first mindset: proven track record of developing engineers, giving clear feedback and enabling growth.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and operations: low-ego, scrappy, willing to roll up sleeves for operational work and adapt as priorities change.
