Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a cross-functional engineering team building Digital Customer Platforms; set direction, remove blockers and foster professional growth.
- Drive technical choices focused on quality, sustainability, security and long-term platform health (cloud, APIs, CI/CD and testing).
- Partner with Product and Design to prioritise work and translate customer needs into well-scoped deliverables.
- Improve ways of working across planning, delivery and continuous improvement; promote agile practices and engineering standards.
- Evaluate and guide responsible, pragmatic adoption of emerging technologies including AI while managing risk and compliance.
- Build an inclusive team culture, mentor engineers and recruit to strengthen capability.
Requirements:
- Strong software development background and relevant higher education; hands-on credibility with modern engineering practices.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring or guiding engineers in product-focused, cross-functional teams.
- Practical knowledge of cloud-based systems (Azure experience is a plus), APIs and backend/frontend technologies (C#/.NET, React/Vue.js desirable).
- Experience working in agile teams with an emphasis on quality, observability and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to balance technical trade-offs with product outcomes.
- A leadership style that encourages collaboration, learning and long-term product sustainability.
