Lead Software Engineer, Messaging Infrastructure at Klaviyo

Responsibilities:
- Own architecture and technical direction for core messaging pipeline components (ingestion, routing, delivery, status tracking).
- Design and implement high-throughput, highly-available backend services in Python and/or Go.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers; review code, set standards, and grow technical capability.
- Drive solutions for multi-channel delivery including provider integrations, compliance, and global deliverability.
- Collaborate with product, deliverability, compliance, and platform teams to expand messaging capabilities.
- Establish best practices for observability, testing, capacity planning, and incident response.

Requirements:
- Strong experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems and streaming pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go and production service development on AWS.
- Track record of owning architecture, making trade-offs for scalability and reliability.
- Experience with provider integrations, multi-channel messaging, and regulatory/compliance considerations.
- Leadership skills: mentoring, technical strategy, cross-team communication, and driving delivery.
- Familiarity with observability, performance tuning, and fault-tolerant system design.
