About Us Tebi is creating the first Connected Restaurant Management System that makes hospitality flow. About the role We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us build powerful, delightful features that empower restaurant teams. We are looking for candidates who hold EU citizenship and are excited to join our team in Amsterdam. For those moving from abroad, we offer a relocation package to make your transition to the Netherlands as smooth as possible. You’ll work across the stack to bring new ideas to life, whether it’s building intuitive interfaces, scalable backend services, or the glue in between that makes everything feel seamless. You’ll collaborate closely with design, product, and other engineers to rapidly ship impactful features. As an early team member, you’ll also help shape our engineering culture, tooling, and technical direction. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves solving real user problems, and wants to help modernize an underserved industry with thoughtful, elegant software. Responsibilities Build, test, and ship end-to-end features across the stack—from APIs and data models. Collaborate with designers and PMs to translate user needs into working, intuitive product experiences Own projects from concept to launch and beyond, balancing speed, quality, and scalability Improve system performance and reliability across frontend and backend systems Help evolve our codebase and technical architecture as we scale Contribute to shared tooling, component libraries, and best practices that level up the whole team What you’ll need 8+ years of professional experience as a fullstack or backend engineer in a product-focused environment Deep expertise in either Kotlin, Java, or Scala. Significant experience with distributed systems. You know how to build and maintain scalable, resilient services that work together. Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka). Good experience of relational databases, such as Postgres.
