Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend services that power billing and energy-market communication.
- Build APIs and Next.js backend routes that reliably process transactions and market events.
- Implement and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and data access patterns (Drizzle or similar).
- Integrate payment and billing workflows with Stripe and external partners.
- Ensure scalability and reliability for growing transaction volumes and distributed workloads.
- Raise engineering standards via code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentorship.
- Ship features iteratively with pragmatic trade-offs and strong testing/observability.
Requirements:
- 3+ years building and shipping production backend systems, preferably in TypeScript/Node.js.
- Strong asynchronous programming experience and familiarity with Next.js backend patterns.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM/typed-data layer (Drizzle or comparable).
- Experience integrating Stripe payments and implementing billing logic.
- Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and system design trade-offs.
- Clear written and verbal communication; ownership mindset suited for early-stage teams.
- Fluent or native-level German (C1+).
