Responsibilities:
- Own full development cycle: discovery, design, implement, deploy, monitor and iterate on Tier‑1 backend services.
- Build and maintain high-traffic RESTful APIs and microservices using Scala or other JVM/functional languages.
- Contribute to system design, TDD, code reviews, and lean engineering rituals.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend teams and multiple cross-functional teams across locations.
- Ensure service reliability and performance through monitoring, observability and incident response.
- Optionally contribute to frontend components and participate in team activities and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Production experience with functional or JVM languages (Scala preferred) and building high-traffic services.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and database technologies (Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB or similar).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud environments (AWS) and CI/CD/deployment practices.
- Experience with TDD, code reviews and collaborative agile workflows.
- Eagerness to learn, a team-oriented mindset and good communication skills.
