(Senior) Backend Engineer - Vehicle Mission (all genders) at MOIA GmbH

Responsibilities:
- Research and develop passenger management systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Build and maintain the mission-control backend that orchestrates autonomous vehicle operations.
- Bridge data flow between AWS backend and in-vehicle components using AWS IoT (commands, events, metrics, logs).
- Orchestrate driving tasks and coordinate passenger boarding workflows.
- Integrate with external self-driving system providers and vehicle vendors.
- Provide test infrastructure, tooling, and reliability for autonomous vehicle development.
- Participate across the full lifecycle: design, implementation, QA, maintenance; work in a cross-functional agile team.
- Use and help integrate AI coding assistants in the development process.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in TypeScript or another modern typed backend language.
- Practical experience with AWS IoT and serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS).
- Familiarity with edge communication protocols (e.g., MQTT).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild) and event-driven architectures.
- Interest or experience in embedded development and vehicle integration.
- Strong DevOps mindset, focus on reliability, and proactive, hands-on approach.
- Comfortable collaborating with partners (VW Group, vendors) and aligning interfaces and tooling.
