Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into scalable AI and analytics solutions, focusing on production-ready implementations.
- Design, build and maintain data pipelines and pre-processing flows for large, often unstructured, datasets used in AI models.
- Architect, integrate and deploy Large Language Model (LLM) applications; develop APIs and interfaces for system integration.
- Implement testing, evaluation and monitoring methodologies for AI models, ensuring performance, robustness and fairness over time.
- Provide production support and maintenance for deployed models and analytics services; troubleshoot issues and ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, treasury and IT to align solutions with organisational needs and governance.
- Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and represent BIS in external technical events as directed.
- Continuously evaluate new tools, frameworks and research to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record designing and delivering AI/ML systems, with hands-on experience in Python and production tooling.
- Practical experience with LLMs, model evaluation/testing frameworks, and handling large unstructured datasets.
- Strong background in data engineering: building ETL/ELT pipelines, data validation and scalable architectures.
- Experience developing APIs and integrating ML services into existing platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, MLOps practices, model monitoring and lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; experience mentoring junior staff.
- Prior exposure to financial or regulated environments and knowledge of data governance/security is a plus.
