Senior Data Engineer at Hapag-Lloyd

Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain reliable, scalable ETL/data pipelines to support global shipping and supply-chain analytics.
- Implement data models, ingestion frameworks and transformation logic to make data usable for analytics and products.
- Ensure data quality, lineage and observability; instrument pipelines with monitoring and alerting.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Operate and optimise cloud data infrastructure and tooling; contribute to CI/CD, automation and secure deployments.
- Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices and help shape architecture decisions in the Knowledge Center.

Requirements:
- Several years of hands-on data engineering experience building production pipelines and data platforms.
- Strong programming skills (Python, Scala or Java), SQL and experience with relational and columnar stores.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerisation and orchestration, and big-data frameworks (Spark, Kafka or similar).
- Experience with data modelling, ETL frameworks, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Good understanding of data quality, observability and performance optimisation techniques.
- Able to work in Agile teams, communicate clearly in English and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in Gdańsk (relocation support available) and participate in Knowledge Center goals.
