Responsibilities:
- Design and implement retrieval, ranking and reranking algorithms to improve search relevance and efficiency.
- Apply NLP and advanced ML techniques to product search problems and drive model improvements.
- Own model lifecycle: prototype, evaluate, productionize and monitor ML models at scale.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and tooling for training, evaluation and serving (cloud-based as needed).
- Identify weaknesses in existing systems (business-logic heavy areas) and propose data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product and ML teams to deliver measurable product impact.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python or another scientific computing language and strong SQL skills.
- Solid theoretical understanding of ML and hands-on experience building and deploying models that deliver business value.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms and tools for large datasets (pandas, numpy, dask, polars, Arrow, etc.).
- Practical experience designing and operating data pipelines and cloud-based training/serving platforms (e.g., Vertex AI, SageMaker).
- Strong statistical knowledge for model evaluation and experience with big data analysis.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and MLOps tools; generative AI/agentic frameworks are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and experience translating complex ML concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
