Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Recommendations (Experience) at SoundCloud

Responsibilities:
- Build, test, and productionize ML and LLM-based features that improve personalization and engagement.
- Design and implement end-to-end ML pipelines covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, serving, and monitoring.
- Make engineering trade-offs for cost, latency, complexity, and maintainability in production systems.
- Work with large-scale data platforms (BigQuery, BigTable, Airflow, DynamoDB) and real-time serving infrastructure.
- Establish monitoring, A/B testing, and metrics to measure user impact and iterate on models.
- Debug cross-system issues across data pipelines, models, and serving layers; contribute to technical strategy and best practices.

Requirements:
- 4+ years software engineering experience and 1–2+ years deploying ML systems to production.
- Strong Python and Scala/Java skills and experience writing scalable production code.
- Experience with LLMs and integrating them into ML systems (RAG, model serving, production LLM features).
- Proficiency with large-scale SQL (BigQuery/Spark) and distributed data systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), containerization, and observability for ML services.
- Strong focus on data quality, A/B testing, and reliable model serving.
