Responsibilities:
- Design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems with scalability and phased construction in mind (air-cooled, fluid-cooled, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, in-row).
- Select cooling architectures and containment strategies; ensure redundancy and concurrent maintainability for mission-critical operations.
- Conduct CFD simulations and heat-load calculations to validate airflow management, thermal performance, and capacity planning.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, and IT infrastructure teams for integrated system delivery.
- Lead client interactions, present design deliverables, support site assessments, and travel periodically for key milestones.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least 6 years of mechanical design experience in data center or mission-critical facilities.
- Demonstrated CFD and thermal modeling skills, plus hands-on experience with CRAC/CRAH, chillers, pumps, and controls.
- Knowledge of industry standards (Uptime Institute, TIA‑942, ANSI/BICSI 002) and design practices for redundancy and reliability.
- Strong CAD/Revit proficiency, excellent coordination and communication skills, and experience producing technical documentation.
- Preferred: certifications such as CEM, BEMP, LEED, or professional engineer (P.E.) registration.
