About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain scalable, resilient Java services using Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
- Apply domain-driven design and event-driven patterns (Kafka) to model banking and payment workflows.
- Architect and optimise relational schemas and queries (PostgreSQL) for performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with Implementation, Solutions Engineering, Product and Business Development to integrate partners and support partner on‑boarding.
- Contribute to cross-team quality through code reviews, design discussions and by championing best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, share domain knowledge and represent the team in planning and technical strategy sessions.

Requirements:
- Strong Java and Spring Boot experience building production microservices.
- Hands-on knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka or equivalent) and event-driven architectures.
- Practical experience designing and tuning relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with domain-driven design, system design and scalable architecture patterns.
- Effective communicator able to work across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders; experience in payments or banking domains is advantageous.
