Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware and device-control software for ultrasound neurotech hardware.
- Implement real-time signal processing, scientific algorithms and treatment-planning code with attention to numerical correctness.
- Build clinician-facing applications and toolchains used for experiments and trials.
- Design test infrastructure, CI pipelines and verification artifacts for regulated medical software (traceability, tests, docs).
- Partner with founders and cross-functional teams on architecture, code reviews, debugging and release readiness.
- Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate development while ensuring full ownership and explainability of delivered code.

Requirements:
- 2–4+ years industry experience in production software or equivalent applied PhD/postdoc experience.
- Strong proficiency in systems languages (C/C++, Rust) and Python for tooling/scientific code.
- Experience with embedded/real-time systems, hardware interfacing, DSP/signal processing and numerical methods.
- Familiarity with testing, CI/CD, verification, and regulatory software practices (e.g., IEC 62304, QMS concepts).
- Ability to write clear, reviewable code you can defend and debug; strong engineering judgment and documentation skills.
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants responsibly as productivity tools, not as a substitute for domain expertise.
